BIOGRAPHY
BIKO ABIDIN is an alternative metal / shoegaze band from Johor Bahru, and was formed in October 2018. The band consists of 5 members, lead vocals Hafiz Azuar, lead guitarist Hafiz Nasir, bassist Nazmi Jawahir, Moustaffa Kamahl Mohta (drums) and rhythm guitarist Iman Manan.
The band has released a demo album “Ø” (pronounced as Sifar) in 2018, which was recorded in a bedroom studio somewhere in 2008 – 2012. The album contains 11 tracks respectively.
Biko Abidin have performed at some local underground events around Johor Bahru, Malacca and Kuala Lumpur. They are looking forward to play all over Malaysia and hoping to go abroad as well in the future.
The roots of Biko Abidin music is oftenly post-metal and shoegaze. Their music has been described by one of the listeners as,
“…feels like dancing in the hurricane, calm in a catastrophe…”.
The band come from various music backgrounds and heavily influenced by bands like Loathe, Deftones, and My Bloody Valentine.
